INTRODUCTION
The Treufreund prefix was established in 2001 by my mother - Jane Asher, when she bred her first litter. She produced 4 generations of champions and many much loved family pets in her time.
Mum and I got the showing bug when we went to our first dog show together in about 1996... as they say, the rest is history! We have been actively involved in the dog showing world for the best part of 20 years. Unfortunately mum lost her battle with cancer in 2012 and I have taken on her K9 family and will continue to breed these beautiful dogs in her memory. After a big move from Canterbury in late 2015, Treufreund German Shorthaired Pointers are now based in the beautiful Deep South - Invercargill, New Zealand. Showing dogs is the sport I love. Outside of the dog shows the dogs are... 'just dogs', and much loved members of the family who tear around the paddock and the garden during the day and lie infront of the fire at night. They enjoy regular walks at Queens Park and trips to the beach for a blat in the sea air! More recently I have taken up Rally-O and have successfully titled 4 dogs and I have also taken a few through their Canine Good Citizen tests. I now have four Bronze dogs in the family (with more to follow!) One day I would like to try my dogs in the field as I know the natural ability is there... I just have to get over my fear of birds which is the only reason I haven't ventured down this path yet!!! Litters are few and far between, I will only breed a litter if I want to keep something for myself and to continue the Treufreund line. Please see my 'Puppies' page for more information. Please have a look around the website and I hope you enjoy my dogs as much as I do! Sarah Asher TREUFREUND - "True, Loyal, Hunting Friends" |
